As the 2023 NCAA Wrestling Championships are fast approaching, the NCAA wrestling prodigies are girding up their loins. Following suit, the young wrestling prodigy, hailing from North Carolina, Jaxen Forrest recently gained the limelight through his incredible spree. Interestingly, he started his year by clinching the Fargo title. Enrolled at Bishop McCort High School, Forrest is a class of 2026 wrestler and currently resides in Pennsylvania.

Jax has left the crowd in awe after destroying his opponent on the mat at the U17 World Championships and bagged the U17 World silver medal in 2022. As he looks forward to the upcoming season, the young wrestler was featured in a Clash of Combat podcast wherein he spoke about his pre-match intrusive thoughts.

Forrest Reveals his intrusive pre-match anxious thoughts shocking fans

The Clash of Combat podcast welcomed young NCAA wrestler Jax Forrest for its latest episode. The podcast hosted by Cayden Henschel and Crosby Schlosser left the fans surprised as Jax pulled off the curtains from his pre-match jitters.

From its official Instagram handle, the Clash of Combat shared a small clip of an interesting conversation with Jax. When Cayden Henschel and Crosby Schlosser asked about his wrestling, Jax Forrest interestingly answered them and remarked ‘’I think I’m like a pretty high-level wrestler and I think I can do it’’

Following this, Bishop McCort High School wrestler revealed his anxiousness before the matches, “I was so nervous for my matches. I have panic attacks on the side before the match’’ he remarked.


Despite that hosts of the podcast also interrogated further and enquired Jax to pick any school. Jax disclosed that he would go with  ‘’The University of Wisconsin-Parkside’’.

The phenomenal career trajectory of Jax Forrest

Jax Forrest gained wide acknowledgement as U17 World silver medalist at 55kg, in 2022. The list of accolades runs wide, as he had a strong 2022-23 year. These include a Powerade title, the U17 World Team Trials, top-3 finishes at Super 32, and ultimately the U20 World Team Trials.

Jax Forrest is currently ruling hearts with his spectacular trajectory. Though it seems that he also faces pre-match anxiety, but chooses to curb the inner voice to destroy his opponents.
