Amit Elor has almost become a household name for every wrestling fan. The 8x world champion who recently turned 20 on 1st January has been on a roll ever since she started her international amateur wrestling career. But, while it may seem that Elor has had it easy because of natural talent, it is not the case.
Contrary to this, Amit Elor has had to endure through a lot of struggles to get to where she is now. She underwent a lot of injuries earlier in her career and still bounced back with sunny optimism. Interestingly, the 72kg wrestler recently uploaded a video displaying the flip side of all the gleaming gold medals she has won.

Amit Elor added a reel to her Instagram page, showcasing several clips of her injured state. The videos also had clips of her training despite being injured. Captioning the post, Elor wrote, “I used to feel invincible when I was younger, that I would never seriously be injured. I was wrong and learned so many important lessons.”
She also added, “Now, I value recovery just as much as training. I adapted the saying “train smarter, not harder.” Please take care of your body so that you can continue doing what you love.” As Amit Elor mentioned, rest and recovery are equally sacrosanct to nourish oneself, especially when one is a sports person.
While the caption Amit Elor posted talked about a lesson she learned, the in-caption of the video addressed something else. Through her in-caption, the 8x world champ pointed out all the people who didn’t have faith in her when she struggled with her injuries. In fact, she wrote that many even asked her to quit wrestling.

A fitting reply to everyone who discouraged her
Replying to all people who asked her to quit, Elor wrote, “No, I’ll be smarter. I won’t give up until I achieve my Olympic Dream.” Although the video clips featured in the reel of Amit Elor showed her in an incapacitated state, she had a smile riven in each one of them. Although Elor does possess a natural predilection for wrestling, talent isn’t a guarantor of success.

According to 2x NBA champ Kevin Durant, “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” All the videos of Amit Elor grinding in the gym while nursing her injured body are proof of the hard work she put in. Today, she has built herself into a solid bastion, who successfully won six consecutive world championship gold medals in two years. Will she be able to add an Olympic gold to her tally as well?
