Every year, ‘The Living The Dream Medal Fund’ holds a gala where they recognize and reward the hard work and subsequent achievements of great wrestlers. As the world champion for the second time, Amit Elor received the invitation again this year. She donned an elegant black knee-length dress and completed the look with black shoes. She posted a carousel of pictures from the event on Instagram, holding a big cheque to the tune of $50,000. A humbled Elor accompanied the pictures with a note of gratitude in the captions that read, “Thank you to the Living the Dream Medal Fund (LDMF) for everything you do for the sport of wrestling I really enjoyed having dinner with you all, for the second year in a row! I loved meeting and chatting with each one of you. I will continue to do my best to make you all proud!”

U.S.A. Wrestling and the U.S. Wrestling Foundation joined forces with the LTDMF to give accolades on Zain Retherford and Amit Elor. These two 2023 World champions received $50,000 cheques, while bronze medalist Mason Parris received $15,000. Several other wrestling legends received similar cheques according to their world championship rankings.
Each of the distinguished guests relished the rare chance to be in each other’s company and enjoyed the delectable dishes served at the event. Amit Elor took pictures of her mouth-watering plate and gorged on the food to her heart’s content. After the event, Amit Elor availed the public transport and carried the huge cheque down the subway. For her, the money does not matter as much as doing her part for the wrestling community.

The bonus from ‘The Living The Dream Medal Fund’ is in no way suggesting that the wrestlers give their sport their best “for the money”. Rather, it is a reminder that their individual glory is a subject of celebration for the whole community. This collective celebration is what drives Amit Elor to proudly carry the torch for the wrestling community. She takes her role as one of the global ambassadors of wrestling very seriously. Therefore, whenever the chance arises to add one more chapter to the annals of the sport, Amit Elor gives it her best.

Now, she has set her sights on the 2024 Paris Olympics, which will be the creme-de-la-creme to her list of achievements. After the repeat three-peat success this year, she said, “…I’m ready to do everything I possibly can because it’s the Olympic year”. The 68 kg weight class is not recognized in the Olympics. Hence, Amit Elor will try to qualify in another weight class through the Pan American Games in February.
