This can be perfectly used as a metaphor for the American elite wrestler about her wrestling comeback. She might have lost the final bout, but despite that, she managed to come out of it being number one.

There were changes in the recent domestic women’s freestyle rankings, though the changes were minimal. They were mostly based on Final X results and the national team matches. Disappointed by her performance against the Japanese wrestler, the 2021 Pan American wrestling champion has made her way to the top spot in 55 kg.

Jaccara Winchester had an upset when she lost to Japan?s Haruna Okuno by two points. Even though she clinched the silver, it was not the comeback she was hoping for. But the silver gained at the championship gave her the top golden seat at the domestic women’s freestyle rankings. You lose some and out of that, you win some.

 

In the 55 kg bracket, she leads with the number 1 spot with Alisha Howk at number 2 and Areana Villaescusa at number 3 in the rankings. She has booked herself a spot for the Paris Olympics 2024. She has the mindset of a champion. Even though being an Olympian is a very big deal for her it is not enough. She wants to be an Olympic champion.

Wrestling to be a champion

The Paris Olympics 2024 are right around the corner. The mats are set and the roster will be out anytime. Jacarra Winchester must be looking for a win right now. After finishing 5th place in the Tokyo Olympics 2020, this is another opportunity for her to be the Olympian she wants to be.

Since there is no 55 kg in the Olympics she might have to either come down to 53 or move up to 57 kg. She moved down to 53 kg at the Tokyo, it will be exciting to see what she chooses. Jacarra is the kind of athlete who comes out stronger from a defeat, with her amazing groundwork and her hard work she might make the comeback she wants. One of the Olympians that will catch the eyes in the tournament.
