On May 10, 2024, the 33-year-old American wrestling great David Tylor announced his retirement, sending a shockwave throughout the wrestling community. Considered one of the world’s best pound-for-pound male wrestlers, Tylor announced his exit from the wrestling world following his appointment as the head coach of Oklahoma State University. “I knew in 2024 that this was going to be it for me as a competitor,” said the wrestling king. Fans were hopeful they would witness his wrestling prowess unfolding in the MMA ring post-retirement. But the 2018 World Cup champion in the 86 category curbed those rumors as well. Speaking on the Pound 4 Pound with Kamaru and Henry YouTube, Tylor expressed he had no desire to move to MMA, stating, “You know I think it’s super fun to watch and I just decided It really wasn’t the path that I wanted to take but I definitely considered it for you know for sure.”
There is a lot of steam picking up offline, with credibility, that David Taylor will be competing at 92kg at the WTT.
