A social media post on X showcased the top plays made by several Big10 giants. Holding the top spot was the first-ranking 174-pounder Carter Starocci of the Penn State Nittany Lions. The 3x NCAA champ extended his unbeaten match-winning streak to 60 by winning his latest bout against a Maryland wrestler.

Notably, this is the highest number of matches an unbeaten wrestler has won in the NCAA. The previous record belongs to Spencer Lee, whose streak ended at 57 wins. The 174-pound weight class saw more action by Iowa’s Patrick Kennedy, who defeated Illinois’ third-ranking Edmund Ruth.

The third spot, according to the post, was shared by two Ohio State grapplers. Bryce Hepner and Ryder Rogotzke of Ohio State jointly achieved third place for helping the Buckeyes secure a close 20-19 win against Michigan. Interestingly, Hepner and Rogotzke weren’t the only Buckeyes to stand out this week. An Ohio State wrestler surpassed every NCAA wrestler with his stunning performance in week 13.

The Michigan Wolverines are currently in a clumsy middle position in the NCAA rankings. Its recent dual against Ohio State presented a perfect opportunity for the team to climb the leaderboard. Both schools presented very good wrestling skills and didn’t let their opponents gain a big lead in the entire dual.

But, this led to the final match between Ohio State’s Nick Feldman and Michigan’s fourth-ranking Lucas Davison becoming the ultimate decider of the dual. The Wolverines’ wrestler had the upper hand, but the wrestling star suffered a huge upset because of a last-minute takedown.
