After facing backlashes from wrestling fans over social media, retired UFC double champion, Daniel Cormier quit the NCAA wrestling commentary. The former champion took this decision as the wrestling fans were not thrilled with his mic abilities during this year’s major NCAA championships. A fan wrote “DC is painful. He has no professionalism on the mic to the point of it being ridiculous.”
But that did not take the zeal away from Cormier. Therefore recently he took to his social media to recall his golden days of wrestling on the world championships stage.

Amid controversy, Daniel Cormier reminded everyone of his stellar wrestling skills by sharing a throwback video. Taking to his official Twitter handle, 2x US Olympian shared his old school wrestling clips, captioning the post as “World championships.” In this throwback video, he seems vibrant, destroying his opponent formidably. As he started wrestling at an early age, Daniel Cormier inspired the audience while representing Oklahoma State University and Colby Community College in collegiate competitions. His wrestling career reached its peak in 2004 when he competed in the Olympics in Athens, Greece, and finished fourth in the 96 kg weight class. He made his professional MMA debut in 2009. He took retirement from professional MMA competition in 2020 and then switched to a career as a commentator and analyst for the UFC. But that did not go well.

DC disregarded the NCAA unfairly on social media by drawing attention to what he considered as inadequacies in their strategy, which sparked a furious debate among sports fans and professionals. As a result, he had to give up on the NCAA wrestling commentary.

Continue to do things the same way and stay wrestling that hasn’t changed since the 40’s. I told the general public to watch a guy told me he’d rather tear his eyes out than watch. So enjoy. I’ll finish tonight and I’m out,” he announced. But Cormier’s latest post comes as a reminder that he still has a close bond with wrestling.
