Alex Morgan once faced criticism upon declaring that she would be taking part in her third Olympic games shortly after giving birth. In an interview with Glamour, the 33-year-old Soccer player once spoke about her sentiments.

In the 2020 interview, the athlete spoke about the skepticism that her decision to return to the field met with. She took a strong stance against the general discrimination of thoughts while addressing a woman. Lending her voice in a public forum to promote the possibility of a balanced life, even during motherhood, Alex Morgan achieved a feat, perhaps greater than her over 100 international goals.

Alex Morgan believes that the world is not made for her

Balancing motherhood with any career, athletic or otherwise, has always met with criticism. This is a known fact. But the San Diego Wave FC striker believes that her kind is far superior to how the world perceives them to be.

“It’s not like women can’t do both — our bodies are incredible — it’s the fact that this world isn’t really set up for women to thrive,” Morgan told the press. She continued, “I want to be open about my journey because I want women to feel like they don’t have to choose one or the other.“

Women in sports have made great progress with respect to how much revenue is allotted to their promotion and well-being. For instance, the new collective bargaining agreement for the WNBA now includes significantly expanded (and first-of-their-kind) maternity and family planning benefits.

This is not the first time that Alex purged the perils of patriarchy in public. The more challenged the system, the more it will change”

Previously, Alex had spoken out against the NWSL administration claiming that their attitude towards handling women is of poor taste. The accusations were made after Mana Shim, her ex-teammate blew the whistle on coach, Paul Riley, alleging sexual harassment.
