The highly-anticipated rematch between the women’s volleyball teams of the Nebraska Huskers and the Wisconsin Badgers has finally happened. Acting on the resolve they made on 21 October, the Wisconsin Badgers have finally received their long-awaited revenge.

The Wisconsin Badgers were on quite a bumpy ride recently as they took big fifth-set losses to Penn State and Purdue. However, the Badgers worked with extreme focus and zeroed down on the opportunity to get even with the Nebraska Huskers. A social media post declared the result of the match as Wisconsin smashed down the winning juggernaut of Nebraska with a massive clean sweep.

Nebraska Huskers lose perfect campaign

The Nebraska Huskers were on a 27-match winning streak and were working their way toward a flawless season. However, the Badgers spoiled the party for Nebraska and shattered their dream run at their home court. The Huskers started with a good show but got humiliated in the final set as they lost with scores of 22-25, 26-28, and 16-25.

Wisconsin Volleyball tweeted the result on its official X account and wrote, “Got our revenge, in the Dungeon.” This time, it was Wisconsin who made sure to leech the Nebraska Huskers off key and valuable moments in the game. Both sides posted identical stats as they dueled for supremacy. 

However, Wisconsin shifted the momentum after both sides crossed double figures, as it started widening the gap between both teams. Wisconsin successfully froze Nebraska in its tracks at 12 points as they crossed the 20-point mark in the third and final set. Without delaying the final judgment, Wisconsin delivered the finishing blow when the Huskers were at 16 points, fulfilling their quest for revenge.

Wisconsin Badgers shined bright in the Big Ten Champions

The Wisconsin Badgers shocked the Nebraska Huskers by taking the first two sets of the match as the home crowd cheered on. While both teams dished out high offensive plays against each other, Wisconsin made sure to clinch thr victory. Sarah Franklin and Anna Smrek of Wisconsin went toe-to-toe against Nebraska’s Harper Murray and Ally Batenhorst, accumulating kill after kill.

The final moments of the game saw the mighty Nebraska Huskers collapse against the attack and defense of the Badgers. The home team had pretty much sealed their win in the second set when they didn’t allow Nebraska to win the deuce.
