The Nebraska Huskers stood at the top of the NCAA league rankings with a 27-0 season record. However, the Badgers struck the Big Ten Champs down at their home turf from the fifth-ranked position and prevailed over them. Big Ten Volleyball tweeted a video clip of the final kill of the match as Wisconsin’s Anna Smrek ended it all.

The tweet carried the caption, “Anna Smrek sealed the win for @BadgerVB vs. No. 1 Nebraska – giving the Huskers their first loss of the season.” Anna Smrek is a junior at Wisconsin who led the attack of the Badgers against Nebraska alongside senior Sarah Franklin. The Badgers wrapped things up for the Nebraska Huskers in the third and final set after a hard-fought deuce in the second set.

The Huskers failed to climb out of their second-set loss and couldn’t even cross the 20-point mark in the final set. The final kill wasn’t the only highlight made by Wisconsin’s Anna Smrek. In fact, she scored the highest number of kills in the game and also flaunted her defensive prowess.
