As their collegiate volleyball rivalry spans out, Kendall Murray and Harper Murray find themselves pitched against each other. Huddling for the Big Ten title race, they squared off recently at the volleyball court. Kendall Murray is a senior opposite hitter/outside hitter for the Michigan Wolverines. On the other hand, Harper Murray, who is three years younger, is a freshman outside hitter playing for Nebraska Huskers.

The collision between Huskers and Michigan at the Devaney Center on Friday night was a sight to behold. As throngs and hordes of fans gathered together to watch the match, the No. 1 Nebraska volleyball team enjoyed a seamless victory over their opponent. But this did not stop the Murray sisters from coming together post-game. Here?s a look at the Murray sisters’ bonding over volleyball rivalry amid this historic collegiate win.

The Murray sisters share ample camaraderie as Nebraska clinches title

In the recent match between Nebraska Huskers and Michigan Wolverines, the Huskers had a clean victory with 25-15, 25-12, 25-20 scores. The Huskers? hitting percentage was .368 whereas it was .047 for Michigan. Now, the Huskers have secured at least a share of the Big Ten title. They now have a fair chance at the title, if they secure a win in any one of the three forthcoming regular-season matches.

Spectators closely followed the Murray sisters, playing on the opposite sides. Huskers? freshman Harper Murray had nine kills, whereas Kendall Murray had four kills on Michigan. This is the second college match in which the sisters played against each other. They went head-to-head for the first time in October this year, their professional rivalry bursting at the seams.

Sisterly love was on display after the game where they posed together. Both of them sported the no. 27 of their respective jerseys, as a tribute to their late father, Jade Murray. The sisters hail from Ann Arbor, playing as teammates for one year in high school. Eventually, they entered college volleyball in rival teams, thus making record-breaking careers.

Nebraska Huskers progressing to Iowa in the race for Big Ten title

Defeating the Michigan Wolverines, the Huskers are all set for Sunday?s match in Iowa. Following the given victory and the previous Wisconsin loss at Purdue, the Huskers have won a part of the Big Ten title. If they succeed at winning against the Hawkeyes, it will be the first outright title since 2016. Since they joined the league in 2011, the victory will also mark their fourth Big Ten title.
