The players form the pivotal part of a team in any sport. However, there are roles played in a game by people other than a player. This major role is of a coach who is also an unsung hero behind the victory of a team. He is the mastermind behind every move and every strategy of a team. While the team is the executor, they are a reflection of the finesse of their coach on the court. The sporting world would have missed a considerable number of legends had these guides not been there.

This important role of the coach recently became evident in the performance of the USA men’s volleyball team. The team put up a superior performance in the Olympic qualifier under the guidance of their head coach, John Speraw. Now it was time for the team to show their gratitude.

After that, he kept on adding accolades one after another, as he helped the team clinch golds at the 2015 FIVB World Cup and the 2014 FIVB World League.

Nonetheless, he also guided Team USA at the 2016 Olympics, the 2018 FIVB World Championship, and the 2019 Volleyball Nations League World Cup. Consecutively, the team won a bronze medal in each of these tournaments. But his long list of achievements is still ongoing. He is serving as a head coach of USA’s volleyball team and UCLA’s Volleyball team.
