The Purdue Boilermakers Women’s Volleyball Team defeated the Michigan Wolverines with a dominating clean sweep. The Boilermakers trounced the Wolverines with their towering defence and ensured to take home the glory.

On 24th November, Purdue entered in the playoff against Michigan with 19 wins in its bag. However, the Wolverines failed to amount much and allowed Purdue to take their 20th win with ease. A social media post declared the result of the match as the Boilermakers claimed their sixth consecutive victory.

Purdue Volleyball shuts down all hopes of recovery with massive blocks

The women’s team of Purdue Volleyball played a calm and collected game while on the road. The Boilermakers used their high defensive prowess to take the win from Michigan as they struggled to score points against the players in gold. Purdue Volleyball shared the news of its women’s team’s triumph via a tweet on X.

The tweet carried the caption, “Leaving Ann Arbor with the sweep.” Ann Arbor is the home ground of the Wolverines. The Boilermakers silenced the Michigan offense with nine massive blocks. Moreover, the Wolverines couldn’t even cross the 20-point mark in the first and the final sets.

Purdue’s defense also kept the hitting rate of Michigan down to an embarrassing 0.119. With another tail-end victory in their bag, the Boilermakers look forward to bolstering their 2023 season even further. Interestingly, Purdue wasn’t the only side to take a clean sweeping win on Black Friday. In fact, 24 November also marked the fall of the mighty Nebraska Huskers against Wisconsin.

The Nebraska Huskers took a devastating blow to their flawless 2023 season campaign as they took a big loss against the Wisconsin Badgers. To add insult to injury, the Huskers failed to win even a single set in the match and succumbed to a clean sweep.

The first season loss for Nebraska comes after a staunch 27-match winning streak. However, as Wisconsin has now got its revenge on Nebraska, the NCAA postseason will get very intricately enmeshed. While Nebraska no longer is an undefeated side, Purdue has defeated Wisconsin and Nebraska has defeated Purdue.

Moreover, another Big Ten powerhouse squad, the Penn State Nittany Lions have also traded wins and losses with the other sides.
