The Purdue Boilermakers Women’s Volleyball team faced the Fairfield Stags in the first round of their NCAA playoffs. The powerhouse team from the Big Ten Conference absolutely dominated the game, as they gave staunch competition to the Stags and defeated them in the play.

The Boilermakers entered the 30 November matchup with a staunch winning streak of seven matches, and a 21-8 regular season record. Challenging the offense of the Stags, Purdue emerged victorious in their first postseason match with a towering clean sweep.

The Purdue Boilermakers Women’s Volleyball Team won a resounding victory over the Fairfield Stags in an overwhelming home-court playoff. The impenetrable defense of Purdue rendered all the kill attempts made by the Stags useless. Purdue Volleyball declared the advancement of its women’s team to the second round via a tweet on its official X account.

The tweet carried the caption, “On to the Second Round.” The Boilermakers eliminated the Fairfield Stags in a humiliating match that was one-sided right from the beginning. The players of Purdue successfully decapitated both the offense, as well as the morale of Fairfield, whose score kept dropping with every set.

In fact, the NCAA powerhouse had reached 20 points in the final set when the Stags could manage just eight points. Unable to withstand the onslaught of Purdue, the Stags fell with scores of 17-25, 13-25, 12-25. Interestingly, the Purdue Boilermakers also achieved a new postseason high with their massive win.

Boilermakers register a record-breaking thrashing right from the get-go

The Purdue Boilermakers achieved an average hit rate of 0.478 percent as they thrashed the Fairfield Stags. Apparently, this is a postseason record for the Purdue Women’s Volleyball Program. Moreover, the hit rate of the Boilermakers had touched a staunch 0.545 percent in the final set.

Eva Hudson and Chloe Chicoine led the offensive duties for their team. While Hudson battered the defense of the Stags with 16 kills, Chicoine punctured the Fairfield defense 15 more times. This is more than the combined number of kills registered by the Stags, who could only manage 27 kills in their NCAA playoffs opener.

The Purdue Boilermakers will head into the second round of their playoffs and face the Marquette Golden Eagles. Marquette advanced to the second stage by beating Eastern Illinois University with a clean sweep. Will Purdue be able to clear its next challenge and advance further toward the NCAA Championship?
