The Purdue Boilermakers Women’s Volleyball Team fared through a highly competitive Spartans gameplay. Both sides scuffled with each other to clinch the deuce in the first set. The Boilermakers eventually claimed the set and expected an even tougher contest for the second set. However, the Spartans completely fell apart in the second set, as they could only manage a measly 12 points, before losing the match in the third set.
Paying a tribute to the golden team’s head coach Dave Shondell for the staunch season, Purdue Volleyball tweeted, “21 wins to end @DaveShondell’s 21st regular-season.” Coach Shondell’s guidance allowed the Boilermakers to effectively stifle the MSU offense.
Fans cheering their home side watched open-mouthed as their team got trounced against the solid defense of the Boilermakers. Purdue’s offensive superstar Eva Hudson, who recently reached the 1000-kill milestone against the Wolverines, went full-throttle against the Spartans as well. Hudson led the attack of the road team with 21 kills and enjoyed a whopping 0.500 percent hit rate.
