Disabilities should rarely hinder someone’s career trajectory because passion trumps everything else. One such volleyball player named USA’s Volleyball 2016 Male Sitting Player of the Year has been a star Paralympic volleyball athlete proving that heart over everything else is sacrosanct. On his recent journey to etch his team’s name in the upcoming Paris Olympics, the 4x decorated Parapan Games player, in collaboration with USA Volleyball, reflected on the strategy he follows, to secure the Paris ticket this year.

Not letting life take away from his disability, he recently got into a tête-à-tête with usavolleyball to chart a game-plan for the Olympics. The 6 foot 3 inch middle blocker seemed quite wise, and it looks to be that his musings might work as motivational maxims for the layperson as well.

The middle blocker, Roderick Green, explained his belief, saying, “I think it will take camaraderie, you have to come together. And, I think it will take everyone finding a weakness. Working on their weakness and also at the same time things that you are good at and perfecting it. That’s my goal.” As a team player, leader, and mentor, Roderick Green aims to bring people together. His genuine objective of the same lies in the reason that not just people on the court would have their eyes on him, but also people outside the court would be clamoring for him from the sidelines. They must get inspired and believe, “Hey, he’s putting in work, I should put in work too.
