The NCAA Women’s Volleyball recently witnessed a magnificent effort by a player from the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Buckeyes have not been performing as well as they did last year, and are stuck with a record of 10-16. However, one of its star players recently proved that she still has the firepower capable of burning holes in the opposition’s defense.

Emily Londot is an outside hitter for the Ohio State Buckeyes. The senior player recently brought her A-Game to the electrifying volleyball court and recorded a career-high number of kills. A social media post captured the final kill of her match against Illinois Fighting Illini. While Londot’s skills had helped the US secure a U18 World Championship in 2019, she couldn’t see the same result for Ohio State.

The Ohio State Buckeyes put up a great show against Illinois on 15 November but failed to contain them till the end. Buckeyes’ Emily Londot showcased some amazing volleyball offense during the game and stacked a whopping 30 kills in the match. Ohio State Women’s Volleyball tweeted about their star’s grand achievement via their official X account. Talk about rousing the crowd with a cerebral performance.

The tweet carried the caption, “S5 | That’s a career-high 30 kills for @emilylondot.” The tweet also had a video that displayed Londot’s final kill against Illinois. The commentators praised the outside hitter’s effort and noted, “Londot. Some more drafts for her 30th kill of the night. Londot now becoming just one of two Big 10 players this season with 30 kills a night.”

Emily Londot also contributed to the defense of her team. She secured 13 digs in the match, the highest by the Buckeyes in the match, equalling the digs posted by teammate Sarah Sue Morbitzer. Despite almost carrying her team the whole game, it was the women of Illinois who came out on top.

Ohio State lagged behind with just six service aces and five blocks, which is almost half of what Illinois scored. In fact, despite 30 kills coming from just Londot’s hands, Ohio State scored just 63 kills compared to Illinois’ 66. The Buckeyes had a really rough season compared to 2022 when they secured 22 wins and 10 losses. Will Ohio State rise back in the next season and improve its position on the leaderboard?
