The Michigan State Spartans women’s volleyball team carried tons of momentum and were on a two-win streak while facing Iowa. Utilizing that momentum to the fullest, the Spartans completely dominated the Hawkeyes and posted scores of 25-11, 25-21, and 25-22. Big Ten Volleyball tweeted a video and announced MSU’s victory via its official X account.

The tweet carried the caption, “Winning in *sweeping* fashion for @MSU_Volleyball.” The video showcased the final point MSU scored against Iowa to seal their final attempt at a turnover. The Spartans did a fantastic job of subduing the recovery attempts of the Hawkeyes in both sets two and three.

Marking the second clean sweep and the third consecutive victory on its charts, the MSU women’s volleyball team looks in perfect shape. This was the second victory registered by MSU against the Hawkeyes this season. In fact, while Iowa was able to win one set the last time, the Spartans ensured that the Hawkeyes kept their head down this time.

Crumbling the Hawkeyes down a second time

The MSU Spartans women’s volleyball team didn’t see the flair Iowa had when it last faced the Hawkeyes on 14 October. The Hawkeyes had opened the previous game with a winning set but then lost three back-to-back sets. Compared to last time, Iowa easily crumbled this time, especially in the first set. The Spartans towered over the Hawkeyes in terms of both offense and defense.
