As the regional matches come to a close, some top teams will battle it out in the regional semifinals and finals. The winners of these four intense finals will earn their spots in the NCAA Championship semifinals. From there, only two will stand tall, ready to duke it out in the NCAA Championship final. Just before the dust settles, though, a game-changing update has dropped, setting the stage for even more surprises!
Former Northwestern volleyball star and current Big Ten Network broadcaster, Emily Ehman, took to X on October 23 with an exciting update. Dropping some major news about the upcoming NCAA volleyball tournament, she revealed a new twist in the schedule for regional semifinals and finals. Emily enthusiastically shared, “New to the #NCAAWVB Tournament this season: Regional Semis & Finals will be spread out over 4 days instead of 3!”

With this change, teams will either face off on Thursday and Saturday or Friday and Sunday. That means double the action with four thrilling matches lined up on both Thursday and Friday, followed by two matches each on Saturday and Sunday. Emily couldn’t contain her excitement, calling it “HUGE,” and honestly, it’s a total game-changer for this season’s tournament!
