The Big Ten Volleyball Championships never shy away from serving every element of thrill to its spectators. Even though every participating team has poured heart and soul into clinching the tournament’s top spot, two teams have always been under the spotlight. Team Nebraska and Team Wisconsin have been the center of attraction at every Big Ten season.
Along the same lines, team Wisconsin is again in the headlines with its recent groundbreaking revelation. Team Wisconsin recently announced six new faces to add for the upcoming Big Ten Volleyball Championship 2024-25 season. The exclusive news came out this week on National Signing Day as the new players signed agreements for joining the team.
New Volleyball Players on Team Wisconsin’s roster

On November 8th, the national signing day, the No. 2 team on the Big 10 standings, Wisconsin, made a groundbreaking declaration. As per the recent announcement made by Kelly Sheffield, team Wisconsin will be adding new players to the team. Consecutively, six players are excelling in volleyball gear up for the 2024 Big Ten Season.
Charlie Fuerbringer is on the cusp of starting her new season of Big Ten Volleyball Championships 2024 as part of Wisconsin’s No. 2 ranked team. Currently, Charlie is ranked as the no. 1 setter in the country as per the rankings given by PrepVolleyball.com. Eventually, the roots of Charlie’s astonishing volleyball career are her parents. While her dad, Matt Fuerbringer, is the USA’s National team’s assistant coach, her mother, Joy Fuerbringer, led the 49ers to the 1993 NCAA Championship.
Charlie has a remarkable resume with the U19 USA National team gold medal at the 2023 world championships. In an exclusive interview with UWBadgers.com, coach Kelly Sheffield said, “Charlie makes those around her better and puts her teammates in position to be successful. She has great setting skills and range. She also has the ability to positively affect the game with her back-court defense, blocking, attacking, and behind the service line. She has a great volleyball IQ and loves talking the game and being in the gym.”
Trinity Shadd-Ceres is the next to be added to the team in the upcoming season. Trinity is a remarkable outside hitter featuring on the Wisconsin team. She managed to excel in volleyball and is a record holder in the high jump. She has a recent record of 6.49 meters high jump, ranked at the no. 2 position across the globe. In addition to this, Trinity has also been honored as the senior female volleyball athlete of the year. Speaking about Trinity’s potential, coach Sheffield stated, Trinity is a world-class athlete. Her speed and broad jump are amongst the best in the world in her age group.”
Antonina “Tosia” Serafinowska is a long-time volleyball player who can become an elite middle-blocker. As a part of the Polish National Team, Antonina has clinched a three-time best middle blocker award while being the MVP of the qualification tournament and the semi-final matches in the Polish Championships.
Young icons shined bright in the recruitment drive
In addition to these volleyball prodigies, the team will feature three new NLIs. Therefore, the team would include Maile Chan, Morgan Van Wie, and Lola Schumacher in the 2024-25 season.
Maile Chan, ranked as the No. 1 position Libero at Oregon and the No.6 player in Oregon, is the 2023 USAV Girls U17 and Under American champion. Her competitive volleyball profile also features FC Barca Volleyball-Barcelona, Spain, and a professional team in 1st Liga. Apart from a remarkable volleyball career, Maile Chan also features being a state-champion gymnast while competing in tennis and track and field.

Lola Schumacher is a fierce competitor added to the Wisconsin team. Her 2203 championships record proves this, including the 2023 AAU National Championship, 2023 Under Armour All-American, 2023 AVCA All-American Watch list, and 2023 PrepVolleyball second-team All-American.
Morgan Van Wie is the last but not the least on the plate of team Wisconsin next year. The upcoming setter for team Wisconsin features the 2023 all-conference first team and 2023 sectional champions. Apart from her success this year, she has been a six-time superior honor roll with a 4.0+ GPA each semester.

Adding new players to the No. 2 team is a strategic move by coach Sheffield. She added some of the best players in the volleyball sport and the experienced players in various divisions. The anticipation can be felt in the air as the spectators already await the upcoming season of the Big Ten Volleyball Championships.
