The 2023 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Tournament kicked off its first round in a spectacular fashion. Even though 16 teams were competing on the first day of the event, two remained under the spotlight for their intense competition.
Recently, two participating dynamic forces collided on the court, offering spectators an exhilarating clash. In the first round of the NCAA, Georgia Tech’s volleyball team entered the arena to compete with Alabama’s volleyball team. Interestingly, as the game advanced, Georgia Tech trounced Alabama’s team with a clean sweep.
Georgia Tech Dominated the Showdown

Soon after entering the volleyball turf, Georgia Tech’s volleyball team decided to initiate their journey to the NCAA Tournament by knocking off their first opponent, South Alabama. The recent post by Georgia Tech Volleyball pulled off the curtains from this amazing victory and penned, “TECH WINS!! The Jackets advance to the 2nd round with a four-set W!“.

In the first set of the showdown, team Georgia Tech made it to clinch a win over South Alabama by 19-25. But, after falling short of winning the first set, South Alabama made a comeback and clinched a victory in the second set with 25-22.
However, team Georgia Tech again took over South Alabama in the third set, securing 25-15. In addition to this, the last set of the showdown was also clinched by Georgia Tech with a 25-12 score. Finally, team Georgia Tech won the match against South Alabama with the remarkable score (3-1).

Skilled Teammates of Georgia Tech’s volleyball team
The major spectacle at the recent showdown was to witness Georgia Tech’s Tamara Otene showing prowess on the volleyball court. Tamara alone secured 18 points in the match. In addition to this, she also featured a hitting percentage in the match. Some other outstanding players at Georgia Tech were Deandra Pierce, who scored 13 points, and Afedo Manyand, who scored 11.5 points.

Consequently, by winning the recent showdown, team Georgia Tech made it to the second round. In the upcoming showdown, team Georgia Tech will face Western Michigan’s volleyball team. Will they be able to repeat their winning spree?
