Recently, the former Texas Longhorns’ volleyball champion held the opportunity to relay her thoughts about the subsequent honors levied her way in the wake of her championship win. On the eve of her winning the 2023 NCAA Woman of the Year insignia, Logan Eggleston shared a video of gratitude from Istanbul via the NCAA X page. The video was captioned, “2023 #NCAAWOTY finalist & former @texasvolleyball athlete, @loganeggleston_!”. Notably, she spoke about her opportunity to share the same dias with the vice president. She said, “Our team got invited to the White House. I got to speak beside Kamala Harris which I don’t think many people can say”. The special occasion impacted her, she described it as the “craziest, coolest experience ever”.

The Texas Longhorns star was one of thousands of U.S. athletes the President invited to the White House. The VP was filling in for Joe Biden, who could not make it because of a root canal appointment. Harris qualified the value of sports as a “very special way of bringing people together”. The Vice President went at length to describe the value of sports in the nation’s interest.
