Have an interesting take?

On October 20, Lincoln Arneal, the Assistant Vice President of Policy and Leadership at the Nebraska Children and Families Foundation, jumped on X to share some exciting news about the Nebraska Huskers. He proudly declared, “Nebraska is just dominating the rest of the Big Ten in the blood drive. It has more than 2-4 combined.” Talk about a double win!

Abbott and the Big Ten Conference have launched an exciting competition called “The We Give Blood Drive” to address a critical blood shortage sweeping across the nation. This friendly rivalry invites all 18 universities in the Big Ten to see who can rack up the most blood donations. With someone in America needing blood every two seconds, the urgency is real. As of today, the Nebraska Huskers are stepping up to the plate and leading the charge, making fans go crazy!

One user jumped into the comments, saying, “Nebraska can’t stop winning. Everything they touch is gold.” Honestly, it’s hard to disagree! With the Huskers not only topping the NCAA’s Top 16 but also leading the blood drive, they’re truly on a roll.

Just two days ago, the then No. 2 Nebraska volleyball team extended its winning streak to an impressive 15 matches with a dazzling sweep of Ohio State. They took down the Buckeyes with scores of 25-18, 25-18, and 25-16, marking another shining moment in their stellar season. It seems like everywhere you look, Nebraska is claiming victory and all the fans are here for it as more comments keep rolling in!

The Cornhuskers’ heartfelt triumphs win fans everywhere

The Nebraska Volleyball is not just rocking the Top 16 chart; their “Go Big Red” slogan has a whole new vibe now! With them also leading the blood donation game, fans are loving it. One person commented, “New meaning to Go Big Red,” and another added, “Redefining what ‘I bleed Husker Red’ means…” It’s awesome to see how their spirit is making a difference beyond just the court!

So far, the blood drive has seen a total of 5,376 donors, and guess what? The Huskers are way ahead, contributing a whopping 1,317 donations! UCLA trails in second place with just 464 donors—Nebraska’s lead is on another level. And taking the bottom spot? Maryland, with only 29 donors, sits at number 18. One fan didn’t hold back their disappointment, commenting, “That is awesome! And Maryland? What the heck?”

A fan jumped into the chat to give a shoutout to the Nebraska Volleyball team, not just for their epic conference blood drive contributions but for their own personal blood bank, cheering, “Blood donor school!” Fun fact: the University of Nebraska has its very own Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB), one of the biggest community-based, nonprofit blood organizations in the U.S. It’s part of the New York Blood Center, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation, and has been a lifesaver since 1968, working independently to collect and distribute blood, making a real difference in local communities.
