The anticipation for the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championships can be felt in the air. With each passing day, the championships offer exceptional performances emerging on the NCAA court. While some teams keep up with the expectations of the spectators, others leave them disappointed.

Similarly, team Yellow Jackets have managed to not only offer an enthralling match to the spectators but also end a 7-year dry spell. In a recent match, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets defeated the Louisville Cardinals with a remarkable score. Team Yellow Jackets are currently ranked at the no. 10th, as per the latest AVCA Di Poll.

The Epic Showdown of No. 10th Vs. No. 3

The Yellow Jackets team is not only ranked No. 10th but also has managed to return to the top 10th position for the second time in this NCAA season and the 32nd week in the history of this program. The recent tweet by NCAA Women’s Volleyball was captioned as, “THE YELLOW JACKETS STING THE CARDINALS  In this top 10 matchup, No. 10 @GTVolleyball comes out on top to defeat No. 3 Louisville in 4″. 

When the match started, spectators were quite sure that the Cardinals would add another win of the season at the NCAA Women Volleyball championships. However, the match took an unexpected turn. On Friday, No. 10th team Georgia Tech defeated No. 3 Louisville. Unfortunately, the latest defeat of the top 3 ranking ACC team, Louisville, made them go down. 

In the four sets, The Yellow Jackets featured a remarkable hitting percentage of .242, along with 11 kills led by Tamara Otene. On the other hand, Luper secured a hitting percentage of .186 with 15 kills and 25 errors in the match. After putting up all the possible efforts, the Yellow Jackets finally secured a win over the opponent team, clinching a remarkable 3-1 score. But where do the two teams stand in the tournament?

Comparing Overall Performance in the NCAA Volleyball Championships 

As per the latest AVCA DI Coaches Poll, the team Yellow Jackets is not only the no. It’s the 10th team, but it also boosts the top defenses in the nation. In addition, it leads the ACC with a record of 15.48 digs per set. Further, the Yellow Jackets account for international players with 80.8% team digs, 70.2% kills, 46.4 % assists, and 42.4% blocks in the season.

On the other hand, team Teach is featured in the top 3 ranked teams in the tournament. Leading the ACC, Team Tech has 5 exceptionally talented players recognized in the NCAA weekly award. Meanwhile, it also has the second-highest defense with a remarkable 15.48 digs per set this season. 

Overall, both the teams have performed well in the championship. While one team has been emerging victorious, improving their ranks week by week, the other has already clinched the top spot in the championship. However, the major spectacle is to watch the upcoming matches of both teams. Who among the two will perform better?
