“You’re a G, You Took Down the President!”: Megan Rapinoe’s Word War Against Former President Donald Trump Led USWNT Teammates to Go Gaga Over Her

Megan Rapinoe is a superstar for the American Women’s Soccer team. She has helped the USWNT win two World Cups in 2015 and 2019. Furthermore, she was also part of the Gold winning team in the 2012 London Olympics and the Bronze winning team in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Moreover, she has always been upfront regarding social issues. Be it supporting the LGBTQ community, or opposing racism or gender discrimination.

Megan Rapinoe: A magnificent leader

Although Megan is with the USWNT since 2011, in the past few years, she has gained more support and love from everyone. Once her teammate Allie Long said, “Duuuuude, this is so crazy, you’re a G, you took down the president,” when she openly refused to go to the traditional visit to the White House after winning the World Cup.

She has done things beyond playing soccer and winning World Cups for America. In addition, Megan has been a Social Activist and has spoken openly about the things she feel relevant. Most importantly, her teammates support her in every situation and back her up.
