“Had Couple of Little Injuries”: 37-Year-Old USWNT Legend Megan Rapinoe Opened Up on Her Retirement Thoughts Once

Megan Rapinoe is a known name in the soccer world. The American sporting star is a champion on the field. For her exemplary contribution to sports, Megan was bestowed with the honor of “Best Fifa Women’s player” in 2019. Her performance during the 2019 World Cup is still hailed as an example.

The 37-years old is a dominant name in the field. Having made lifelong sacrifices for the sport, Megan never misses a chance to voice her thoughts for the right of fellow players. However, Megan sat down with Jay Williams, talking about her future, and her 2023 World Cup plans.

Megan likes to speak her heart out. Having faced hardships in the early days, Megan did a lot to perfect her skills for the sport. Reports circulating about Megan’s retirement are not new. When Jay enquired Megan about her retirement plans, Megan spoke about her hesitations. But she also shed light on her hopes to join the 2023 squad.

The captain said, “I had a couple of little injuries, I’m getting a little bit older, so I want to go through the season and see how my body feels and all that, but I feel like I still have a lot to give.” Talking about her experiences, Megan said she knows the National team’s dynamics.

Megan acknowledged how many young players are joining the team and are “killing it.” Talking about her role in the team, she said, she might perhaps take up the role as a bridge, the connecting point to the next generation.

Megan Rapinoe learned the hard way

Rapinoe stepped into the shoes of a soccer player after drawing inspiration from her elder brother. She and her twin sister together started playing soccer. While the sisters flourished at the game, her brother struggled with drugs. He went in and out of the juvenile system.

Getting experience from challenging situations. She revealed to her fans how personal issues transcend the boundaries of sports. Experiences make a person better, and Megan metamorphosed into such a strong personality because of her experiences.
