Megan Rapinoe opens up on a change in her perspective

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Megan was asked about the books that she reads and a book that made an impact on her. Responding to that question she said, “Ta-Nehisi Coates’s We Were Eight Years in Power.” She opened up other books she read over the years. “I’d read a couple of the essays during the Obama years but putting them all together and being able to think about our country from that perspective—that was amazing”, said Rapinoe.
Further elaborating on how Obama’s essays helped her change her perspective, she said, “I felt it put together the puzzle of society. Especially in America, the story we’re told just doesn’t add up. You don’t just work hard and then you’re successful. That’s not how it goes.”
Megan’s life as an activist
Alongside her illustrious soccer career, Megan is very famous for her activism. Ever since she rose to fame, Megan has always taken part in social campaigns for the betterment of society.
