The star soccer player of USWNT, Megan Rapinoe, has earned her name with her incredible contribution to the team. From playing her first world cup in 2011 to winning two world cups. Moreover, she was a member of a gold and bronze medal-winning squad in the Olympics. In addition, Rapinoe played crucial roles in every big tournament.

Rapinoe is known for standing up for her belief and raising her voice on the social issues she feels wrong about. Earlier this year, Rapinoe opened up about her thoughts on transgender inclusion in sports in an interview with TIME.

Megan Rapinoe feels this behavior is monstrous 

Megan Rapinoe once again raised her voice in support of her belief. In an interview, she stood up for the inclusion of transgender women in women’s events. This came up as a result of FINA barring transgender women to compete in women’s swimming events. Rapinoe said“I’m 100% supportive of trans inclusion.”

Furthermore, Rapinoe addressed the problem in depth and explained how it is affecting transgender kids. Rapinoe said, We are talking about kids, “We’re talking about people’s lives. We’re talking about the entire state government coming down on one child in some states, three children in some states.”

Rapinoe further added, “They are committing suicide, because they are being told that they’re gross and different and evil and sinful and they can’t play sports with their friends that they grew up with. Not to mention trying to take away health care. I think it’s monstrous.”

Life is the most important thing, not sports

The 37-year-old soccer legend, further explained how the attitude towards this topic has to be changed among the people. Rapinoe said, “And I think people also need to understand that sports is not the most important thing in life, right? Life is the most important thing in life.”

Rapinoe concluded by saying, “And so much of this trans inclusion argument has been put through the extremely tiny lens of elite sports. Like that is not the way that we need to be framing the question.”
