The video clip where Rapinoe answered Tump’s invitation by saying, “I’m not going to the f***ing White House,” spread like fire, and Trump was far from pleased. Trump responded on Twitter, stating, “Megan should WIN first before she TALKS!” From there, the two personalities had various battles against each other. Their displeasure, though, started back in 2016. Rapinoe could not fathom the thought of Trump running the country and explained her thought process regarding the decision.
She said it was “upsetting,” and how “50,000,000 people in this country felt that it was okay to elect that kind of person,” stunned her. Therefore, tussles started way before, and Rapinoe’s feelings about the President never stopped there. She did not believe in “Trump’s administration,” and the differences in opinion were evident.
The no-nonsense approach of Megan Rapinoe runs in her family as she apparently is very patriotic. She has made it pretty clear that she cares about her country and does not shy away from making opinions.
