“50,000,000 People in This Country…”: Megan Rapinoe Was Left Baffled by Donald Trump’s Succes in 2016

Speaking of complicated relationships, Megan Rapinoe and Donald Trump cannot stand each other. It is no surprise that these two went back and forth during the former president’s tenure. The problems started back in 2019 as Megan Rapinoe made her intentions clear about not visiting the White House. Usually, all major sports winning teams receive an invitation from the Prez to visit the White House. However, Rapinoe declined that offer!

Since then, the cat-and-mouse story between these two influential people went up to another level. Moreover, she expressed disappointment in the people who voted him to power. The jib jab erupted, and the soccer superstar went to full throttle against the former President.

Megan Rapinoe confused with the election results

The video clip where Rapinoe answered Tump’s invitation by saying, “I’m not going to the f***ing White House,” spread like fire, and Trump was far from pleased. Trump responded on Twitter, stating, “Megan should WIN first before she TALKS!” From there, the two personalities had various battles against each other. Their displeasure, though, started back in 2016. Rapinoe could not fathom the thought of Trump running the country and explained her thought process regarding the decision.  

She said it was “upsetting,” and how “50,000,000 people in this country felt that it was okay to elect that kind of person,” stunned her. Therefore, tussles started way before, and Rapinoe’s feelings about the President never stopped there. She did not believe in “Trump’s administration,” and the differences in opinion were evident.

The no-nonsense approach of Megan Rapinoe runs in her family as she apparently is very patriotic. She has made it pretty clear that she cares about her country and does not shy away from making opinions.

Her fight for equal pay for women in soccer is admirable. Recently, she received ‘The Presidential Medal of Freedom’ from US President Joe Biden. The impact she left outside the soccer pitch is fascinating. In the twilight years of her career, Megan Rapinoe stands apart as one of the most influential personalities in the world.
