When Megan Rapinoe comes to play, she ensures her presence is felt on the field. The captain of the United States Women’s National team, Megan’s voice transcends beyond the soccer field. She is a tough soul who ensures that her voice is heard, free and just. A person of immense courage, unlike many of her contemporaries, Megan comes out in the open strongly with regard to her opinions.

Be it her strong support for the LGBTQ community or countering the United States former President Trump’s view, there’s no holding her back. Once, the soccer star shared her views on a certain thing about her parents.
Megan Rapinoe finds it hard to believe
Megan is a free bird; she loves to keep opinions open. There is no doubt that Rapinoe and the former US President were never on the same page. Time and again, she came out strongly against the Trump administration. While Megan identifies herself to be more open to perceptions, she holds a strong view against her parents for holding a conservative mindset.

She never sighed away from the media nor from expressing her opinions. In an extensive interview with The Guardian, she says, “I feel like I grew up with all of these lessons [about equality], but nothing was ever spoken.” Narrating further, she says she expects her mother to be “really progressive.” She does not understand how her parents can support her and Trump simultaneously.
She expresses further, “How are you simultaneously as proud as punching me and watching Fox News all the time?” Speaking her heart, “You guys need to go to therapy.” Her parent may hold an opposing view, but when it comes to taking a stand for their daughter, they never step back.

Megan’s father takes a stand for her
The Presidential Medal of Freedom awardee and the former U. S President have had their share of arguments and counter-arguments over social media. Sometimes the opinions were harsh and even uncalled for. An ardent Trump supporter, Rapinoe’s father, however, took a stand for his daughter when the ex-President got a bit far in his remarks.

Expressing his views, Jim Rapinoe said, “he has got a country to run, and I don’t think he needed to go there.” However, he disagreed with what Megan said as well. Megan and her father may have a love-hate relationship, but when in times of need, they are always there for one another.
