The USWNT’s struggle for equal pay for several years can be a motivational tale for many ladies. The whole team, including Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan, and other teammates, dominated the news for their unique struggle for justice.

Their hard work paid off, and as a result, a $24 million settlement was reached by the USWNT. Following the agreement, the USMNT and USWNT will receive equal compensation for upcoming competitions, including the World Cup. However, once Megan spoke about the problems by portraying a situation.

Megan Rapinoe on the pay difference

During an interview with the Player’s TribuneMegan addressed the issue. She explained the difference the USWNT has to face while the USMNT is getting everything without struggles. In addition, they get the minimum of everything from the normal gyms and have side incomes for other needs.

Rapinoe said, “We do not have the conveniences that the top-level male players have. It’s just a fact. We have to make our supplemental income any way we can — appearances, events, video shoots, whatever. We’re not flying private. We don’t have personal chefs. We work out at the gym like you do. It’s the most fun job in the entire world, but it’s a different lifestyle.”

Further, the soccer star added, “You’re getting off of six a.m. flights, checking in to the hotel, and then trying to get in a full sprint workout in one of those sad hotel gyms with the carpet and the low ceiling and the four dumbells and the Dr. Phil on the TV on MUTE.”

Rapinoe’s golden achievement mixed with difficulties

Despite the golden achievements, the whole USWNT was underpaid once; however, after their fight with the system, they earned respect. Meanwhile, Rapinoe helped her nation succeed by playing in the field for a considerable time. At the London Olympics in 2012, she earned the gold medal for her squad. In addition, Megan also won two World Cups in 2015 and 2019 and the best player award in 2019. The Olympic gold medallist is renowned for playing a significant role as a person who manages everything flawlessly.

The biggest example of her outspoken, brilliant personality is her advocacy for gender equality, brought back into focus a social issue. She exerted tremendous effort, encouraging many influential people to speak up for the better.
