Soccer enthusiast Megan Rapinoe doesn’t seem to slow down anytime soon. Her love and passion for the sport are intact and still growing. From a very young age, Megan had an inclination to play soccer. And that helped her to become one of the best in this field. Not only that, she even helped normalize women playing soccer at the international level. Besides sports, the athlete is also an activist and takes part in several protests. Some say she does it for attention, while others say she’s being genuine. But what is the reality?

Megan Rapinoe is not here for attention
The athlete carries a charismatic personality everywhere she goes. Her talent and skills in soccer are obvious, given the number of medals she has bagged to date. Apart from this, Megan has been involved in numerous controversies that people sometimes take in the wrong way.

Clarifying that the Olympian once revealed her true thoughts behind being bold, on and off the field. Although she likes attention, it is not the main reason for everything she does.
“Of course, I like the attention,” said the USWNT captain. “Who doesn’t want 50,000 people going: ‘You’re awesome!’ But, in the same sense, I’m not a slave to it; it’s not the reason I do or say those things.”
Megan’s satisfaction and sense of achievement do not rely on the crowd. It’s her family, friends, and partner Sue Bird whose opinions matter the most to her. They know the soccer star well enough to pass on a comment about her. Therefore, Megan’s policy to keep a small yet meaningful circle is noteworthy.

Back in 2019, the athlete shot a YouTube video with Marie Claire on the occasion of their 25th anniversary. It was a pop quiz, where she had to burst a balloon after answering every question.

One of the questions read, “If you had only 25 hours to live, what would you do?” Megan Rapinoe couldn’t help but imagine spending the last moment with Sue. She said, “Probably, like, just sit on a beach somewhere with my girlfriend.”
