Grant Halloway is one of the greatest American hurdlers and continues to strengthen his legacy on the Track and field arenas with a recent victory at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix. On one hand, Noah Lyles defended his medal from last year, on the other, Halloway recorded his third straight 60m hurdle NB victory, making him undefeated in the category since 2014. But after the victory, the legend had a ‘greet and meet’ session with a promising American hurdler.

But, the hurdling meet-up was a somewhat hostile one. The World Silver Medalist hurdler and Halloway seem to be on good terms with each other. But after losing to him in the 60m hurdle, missing by 0.14, maybe it was just a vent out.

In the latest Twitter update, Grant Halloway narrated the off-track incident he had with 2023 World Silver Medalist Trey Cunningham after the two raced at New Balance Indoor Grand Prix. “I ran into @TreyCunninghamon the street yesterday. I walked up to him & asked him for a quick photo. Instead of responding, he grabbed me by the hips and turned me upside down“, he drafted in the X post. While he had suffered no damage, Cunningham toyed with Halloway.

He shook me up and down until all of my spare change fell out of my pants pockets, grabbed the coins off the ground, then dropped me headfirst onto the asphalt and ran into a nearby McDonald’s”, he added. The 3x World Champion later revealed that Cunningham walked out of the restaurant a few minutes later but when confronted, the 25-year-old pretended he didn’t speak English. “Not a conventional meet and greet but it was fun I must say“, Halloway concluded, seemingly no love is lost between the two.
