As the spotlight shifts to Baku, Azerbaijan, for the highly anticipated FIG Baku World Cup, the U.S. athletes are gearing up for the trampoline & tumbling season. This highly anticipated event is running from February 23rd to February 25th marking intense competition in the T&T World Cup disciplines. A total of 300 gymnasts from 32 countries are participating in this prestigious event. The Baku World Cup is a crucial qualifier for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Eight senior athletes from the United States including celebrated Olympians and illustrious champions are participating at the FIG Baku World Cup in the T&T realm. As the competition intensifies, all eyes are set on the results to see who leads the race to secure an Olympic berth.

Team USA lineup for T&T World Cup

The official Twitter handle of USA Gymnastics @USAGym took to highlight the participation of US athletes at Baku. The caption reads, “Sending good luck to the eight athletes representing Team USA at the T&T World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan this weekend!” The tweet expresses support and encouragement for the eight athletes as the quest for the Olympics continues.

Leading the U.S. lineup are Olympians Nicole Ahsinger and Aliaksei Shostak. They also include the decorated champions, i.e., four-time World champion Ruben Padilla and two-time World champion Sarah Webster. Another participant is Isaac Rowley, who is a 2023 World Team Champion.

Additionally, Ryan Maccagnan, a bronze medalist in trampoline at the 2023 U.S. championships is adding great strength to the team. He will compete alongside Ava Hernando, who claimed bronze in both trampoline and synchronized trampoline at the 2022 U.S. championships. The final member of the lineup is Logan McCoy, who was a bronze medalist in synchro at the 2023 World Age Group Competitions.

The Trampoline and Tumbling World Cup in Baku features six sets of awards across various categories. These awards include individual trampoline and tumbling competitions for both men and women. It also includes synchronized jumping programs. The highest-scoring performers in each program will be awarded the highly coveted AGF Trophy.

Individual qualifications start on Thursday, February 23, followed by Day 2 qualifications on Friday. Synchro qualifying rounds will commence later on Friday. The event will culminate with all the finals taking place on Sunday as the Team USA athletes are looking to win the AGF award.
