Is Quincy Wilson the next big thing in American track and field, or just a fleeting star?

Of course, Quincy Wilson would want to make everything in his life as grand as possible! If you won an Olympic gold at 16, you would too. After a triumphant Parisian run, the Bullis High School student got an opportunity to take a break from his monotonous school routine, thanks to homecoming. Safe to say, the teen star went all in. While fans were already head over heels for the 400m phenom, thanks to his contribution to Team USA’s triumph in the City of Love, Wilson’s latest glow-up only made them go gaga once again. But, before we get to that…

In the country’s track and field circuit, Wilson’s rise to fame has been nothing short of phenomenal. Successive victories ahead of the Paris Games, culminating in a gold with the Eiffel Tower as his witness, the Chesapeake native proved he was not shy to lock horns with the sport’s big boys. The sprinter became USA’s youngest ever male track Olympics at Paris when he ran the first leg qualifying heat of the 4x400m relay. But that’s not the end of his penchant for creating history. He set the 400-meter under-18 world record with a time of 44.66 seconds at the US Olympics Trials round one, before breaking his own record within just three days in the semi-finals (44.59 seconds).

“I’ve been working for this moment. Forty-two years… that record stood for 42 years! It means a lot to me to be able to break it. I’ve been staying longer after practices, coming in before practices… I’m just excited for myself,” he had said back then. Just a few weeks later, he topped his performance AGAIN at the Holloway Pro Classic with a time of 44.20 seconds. So, as expected, the youngster has gathered himself quite a fanbase following his every move, including Snoop Dogg—who had expressed he wanted to meet Wilson. “He said he wanted to meet me, so we met outside right before I ran,” the sprinter had revealed.

Amid stirring up a storm, Quincy seems to be enjoying his teenage life to the fullest. On October 27, the junior took to Instagram to share images from his school prom. The pictures ooze class as the Olympian can be seen posing alongside his date, Solai Russell. Russell is also an athlete and the sister of the 100m hurdles Olympic champion Masai Russell. Wilson and Russell are seen posing alongside a Rolls Royce. Quincy’s future on the track is yet to go a long way, and he still has time to commit to a collegiate program to dabble in the NCAA scene as well. However, that’s not stopping him from getting a taste of the finer things of life already. Along with the Rolls, a Mercedes, and a Land Rover are also seen in the background in other pictures.

Captioned “hoco 24,” the post showed the young boy dressed in a suave suit, while Russell’s vibrant green wardrobe choice made her look equally beautiful.

Naturally, fans couldn’t stop exclaiming how well the two went together. Brazilian athlete Fabiana Moraes gushed seeing the pictures shared by Wilson and couldn’t hold back her jubilation. “I love that for you guys,” wrote the retired 100mH specialist. Others joined in soon.
