The biggest international indoor single-event athletics competition is approaching fast, and things look titillating. In 2023, the Mondo Classic started off the pole vaulting season with a blast and Armand Dupantis came ever closer to setting yet another world record. Now, with the second edition of the competition inching closer, track and field legend Sha’Carri Richardson took to social media to show her excitement to see the world’s best pole vaulters congregate once again in a thrilling show of gravity-defying stunts.
In the first edition, celebrity pole vaulter Armand “Mondo” Duplantis invited some of his closest friends and competitors to the Mondo Classic in Uppsala, Sweden. As the 11 competitors displayed their best skills at Duplantis’ home arena, the host made the headlines by clearing the 6.10m mark. Now, Richardson, like many others, waits with batted breath to see what her friend has in store this time.
