It has been 2 years since the conclusion of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and Fred Kerley is yet to forget his loss to the Italian champion by the barest margin of 0.04 seconds. In a recent press conference, Kerley, confident as ever, makes a bold statement about his opponent, and states that come next time when they meet, he will beat him. A sly dig at him by Kerley was also not amiss.
Lamont Marcell Jacobs is the reigning champion in the 100 meters dash at the Olympics. 2 years ago, the American-born Italian runner sprinted past everyone else to clinch the gold medal. However, will he meet the silver medalist Fred Kerley again, and if they do, will Jacobs beat Kerley again? Fred Kerley had his say on the matter.

This wasn’t the first time Kerley was throwing some shade at Marcell Jacobs though. Just a month ago, Kerley called out Marcell Jacobs as not a “real dog” for playing an indoor event instead of an outdoor track and field race.

The 60-meter race was held in Istanbul, Turkey and Jacobs lost to Samuele Ceccarelli, a fellow Italian sprinter. Jacobs lost by 0.02 seconds having finished the race in 6.50 seconds in comparison to Ceccarelli’s 6.48 seconds.
