In the action-filled Olympic year, it is time to welcome the biggest indoor tussle, the World Indoor Championships 2024 in Glasgow. Since the beginning, the brewing rivalries between Noah Lyles and Christian Coleman have made enough advertisements for this championship. But it would be slightly ignoring if the pole-vault feuds between Katie Moon and Sandi Morris go undescribed. Both the American phenoms are facing each other for the third time this year, keeping one victory talking for themselves. But Sandie Morris has landed in Glasgow for making a hat trick of World Indoor Championship titles. So, stiff competition is waiting for track and field sports lovers. However, on the first day of the championship, March 1, both sessions will hold some serious fights with fresh American challenges.
In the first session, the Women’s final in the Shot Put event will hold the focus. Chase Jackson will hold the bar from the American side. In the second session, the onus will be on Ryan Crouser and the American superathletes, Noah Lyles and Christian Coleman to grab the momentum of the sports lovers. So, let’s hop in the razzmatazz, as this time the championship promises to be bigger than the Beograd edition of 2022.

Live action:
Welcome to the session 2 live-action from the Commonwealth Convention Center. Till now, the completion has panned out beautifully as several new names have come ahead with the ultimate trailblazers. Yemisi Ogunleye’s victory has clearly indicated that in the shot put event in the women’s category.
But heartbreaks were also there. Maria Vicente had to leave the long jump event after facing a horrific injury. As of now, her Olympic chances are looking so bleak as her tendon has faced a severe blow in the penultimate time.
But still, with a hope for her speedy recovery, let’s be into the moment of watching a few more tough fights in the upcoming events of the first day from Glasgow.
2:05 PM: 1500m Women Round 1
Nikki Hiltz is on her journey again to find glory in heat 2 of 1500 meters, the veteran is all set to add to her challenge. Georgia Bell will be her biggest opponent in this event. As of now, Hiltz is looking quite solid with no intention of letting her top chance go. Nikki Hiltz has kept her American chance burning as she has won the heat after clocking her personal best, 4:04.34 ahead of Georgia Bell.
It is time for the third heat in the 1500m event in the women’s category, the 25-year-old Emily McKay has held her breath to clear the rope with a third position. After the US National a few weeks ago, she made clear her intention to go confident in Glasgow to earn a distinct title.
So a similar final will be there, in the Commonwealth Convention Center between these two American middle-distance runners and McKay will get a chance to take her revenge.
Sarah Healy avoided a possible mishap as she fell in the track by her head. However, fortunately, no visible injury could occur as the sprinter informed about her well-being after the race.
Update: an appeal was put in by the Irish team related to Sarah Healy's contact with Haylom before she fell, but it's been denied. https://t.co/31OLR0Fg3m pic.twitter.com/l3ba9Y0znE

Hobbs Kessler has found his position on the final through the 2nd position from the heat 4.
3:20 PM: Shot Put Men’s Final
Ryan Crouser is up to secure the medal that he has yet to take his hand on- the World Inddor gold medal. Last time, he had to face a defeat in the final, ending the journey with the silver medal. But this time, the 6’7″ humble athlete wants to make the journey memorable. Eventually, he has started his throws in that note only. In his throwing attempt, he has crossed 22.36, more than anyone.

On the other lane, Ackeem Blake has taken his chance in 6.46 clocking. This is your unforgettable 60m bunch of champions from the night.

4:50 PM: Medal Ceremonies
The day clearly belonged to the American athletes. Ryan Crouser was able to break his World Indoor Championship medal jinx. On the other hand, Christian Coleman used the same stage to prove his supremacy in the 60m event, where once he lost his momentum after facing a disproportionate defeat 2 years ago. Otherwise, the day went well for the regular champions like Femke Bol, Karsten Warholm, Lieke Klever, and Noor Vidts. However, it was just the first day. For the next two days, many more actions are yet to come.
Chari Hawkins from the USA uncaps the day in the 60mH event. Her personal best goes for 8.16 secs.

Maria Vicente from Spain has burned the opponents at the event of 60mH. The last moment-acceleration helped her complete the event in 8.07 seconds, keeping behind the British opponent.
Now, it’s time to witness the 400m heat event in the women’s category. Andrea Miklos is taking her time outside the lane to store her breath for the upcoming event. Glasgow is having 4 heats to choose the best ones for the next step in the 400m event. Meanwhile, the American beholders Noah Lyles and Grant Holloway are repeating their camaraderie in the indoor arena in practice in 60m.
Laviai Nielsen from the UK has captured the first position in the 400m heat in the women’s category whereas Miklos has grabbed the second position.
The second heat in the 400m is currently active. Dutch sprinter Lieke Klaver earned the position comfortably in the event. the 2023 World Champion did not have to face as she steadily managed her pace to keep herself in the position. It was all about the caliber she held in the event.

The third heat event is pacing right now. It could be a photo finish. Talitha Diggs has earned the first position in this heat. The next three positions are yet to be confirmed. Henriette Jaeger is holding the second position. It might be a joint position, as the situation is panning out.

Sharlene Mawdsley is taking the third position with the same clocking as the Norwegian sprinter took.
Now, it is time for Femke Bol to take up the stage. Right now, she has the world-leading time in the event. The first 200m has been crossed in 21.37 seconds, quite slower than other heats. Bol, Holmes, and Young have earned the top three positions in the heat. so, in the semi-final, you can expect a perfect feud between the world champion and the American challenge and the arch-rival Jamaican sprinters.

Karsten Warholm is taking his stride for the men’s heat in the 400m event right now. The reigning world champion has already earned praise from Noah Lyles before coming to the World Indoor Championship of 2024. The ephemeral Viking holds so much poise that after devouring the opponents, the world champion is now all in sharing the autographs in the gallery. He has just finished his seasonal best 46.68 timing in the 400m indoor event. As the rule dictates, the four best time-holders from the heats will step into the semi-final event in the 400m of the World Indoor Championship 2024.

In the second heat, the first half was covered in 21.75. However, Matej Krsek increased his pace in the next half to cover the distance in 46.07 seconds to stay at the top.
The clock has now shifted to hold the women’s shotput event’s final. Two-time World Champion Chase Jackson is practicing her move once again. All she will be looking for is to keep her hands on her World Indoor Championship medal in Glasgow.
In the third heat of the 400m men’s event in Glasgow, Attila Molnar was in the top position. He continued his form by taking 46.52 seconds to secure his berth in the semifinal of the event. However, the man on the mission from Trinidad & Tobago, Jereem Richards, has entered the semifinal berth with his fourth position in the heat event.
The fourth heat event has also come to an end. American national champion Brian Faust has earned the qualification mark by winning the third position in the heat. On the other hand, the Belgian champion could ask for the top position in the event.

Now it is the time to witness the shot put final in the women’s category. Amelia Campbell is lagging in front of her home crowd. Both the throws have revolved under the 18m. Chase Jackson is strolling in the 19.67 margin, after Yemisi Ogunleye. Jessica Schilder is yet to close the gap with Chase. The European Champion has attempted two throws till now and both identical throws have fallen short to disturb Chase’s position so far.

In the Pentathlon event, Noor Vidts is almost boxing the top-standing Bianca Salming in the ongoing battle.
On the other hand, Sarah Mitton is slowly dismissing Chase Jackson in the shot put final. Currently, the Canadian is in the second position, pushing the American 2x World Champion into the third position.
Jessica Schilder has now moved to the fourth position in the shot put final, just breathing her air behind Chase Jackson. The fight between the three of Chase, Schilder, and Mitton prompted to be the chief attraction of the shot put event in the World Indoor Championship 2024. However, Yemisi Ogunleye has been doing her best so far to keep this bunch of numero unos behind.
Till now, apart from Yemisi, no one could take down the 20m barrier in the event this evening.
However, I think I have just jinxed Yemisi Ogunleye as she has slipped into the second position as Sarah Mitton has grabbed the top position with the 20.20 attempt in the shot put event final in the World Indoor Championship, 2024. Remember, Sarah Mitton is yet to see heartbreak this year, gaining the top podium in five titles.

Everyone is going ga-ga over Noah Lyles’s confidence in grabbing all the medals as he already announced this year. The Dutch sprinting veteran Dafne Schippers has batted for his ameliorated confidence level this year. However, tonight the American World Champion will face his 60m-arch rival Christian Coleman again. To mark his confidence, Lyles will get his two timings (6.43 and 6.44) backing his side against the 60m indoor world record holder American compatriot.
Ferdinand Omenyala will be there in the 60m heat event to challenge the American duo. This season, Omenyala has registered his 60m timing, marking 6.51. In the absence of Kelvin Kiptum, he is on the fore to maintain the reins of the Kenyan side on the opening day of the World Indoor Championship in Glasgow.
Glasgow Arena is now welcoming the World Champion Noah Lyles as he is heading to the 60m heat event in the World Indoor Championship 2024. He has stormed into the semifinal with the timing of 6.57 timing. The average starting was also here, in Glasgow. But that could not create problems for the American star as he comfortably landed in the semifinal of the 60m indoor event.

The heat 4 is already rolling on with Omanyala on the list. Ferdinand Omanyala just crossed Noah Lyles as he took 6.52 to stay ahead of the pack. Omanyala almost survived his disqualification from the event for a technical reason. however, Shuhei Tada joined him at the same time, making a national record.

Coleman evaporated Omanyala as the former one completed the race in 6.49 seconds. This came out as the fastest heat so far as the top-5 finishers ran in the 6.50-sub category timing.
