All the stars in the Milky Way Galaxy and yet the brightest one of them all for Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone is her hubby dearest, bringing to her life a twinkle seldom seen before. Sydney McLaughlin Levrone, who captured America’s heart at the Paris Olympics, is gearing up for her next milestone, the World Athletics Championships in Japan. But before that, she’ll be shining in the women’s 400mH at the inaugural Grand Slam Track in April 2025. She was the first runner to sign up for Michael Johnson’s much-anticipated Grand Slam Track. She is the current holder of the top 3 times in 400mH history, with the fastest coming at the Paris Olympics (50.37). But Sydney Levrone isn’t just winning on the track, she’s also winning in life, all because of the “perfect man” by her side. Now the question that comes to everyone’s mind is, who is this not so mystery man?

Who is Andre Levrone Jr.?

Sydney’s ‘perfect man’ is Andre Levrone Jr. Born on March 9, 1995, and hailing from Maryland, USA, Levrone Jr. came from a household of athletic prominence. His father, Andre Levrone, was in the Marine Corps and played in the base team as a linebacker. And Levrone Jr.’s mother, Angie Levrone has just as much an impressive CV, having been a cheerleader, a gymnast, and a track and field athlete in her college days. So, it wasn’t surprising that their son started making waves in football back in 2009 at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School.

He was unstoppable, helping snag four Maryland State Championships in a row. He then earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies, but besides academics, his football career was at full throttle. Along with Olamide Zaccheaus and Doni Dowling, they became the first-ever receiving trio at the university to record 600 receiving yards in the very same season.

With a versatile and capable resume, Andre Levrone Jr. had many doors open for him.

What is Andre Levrone’s Profession?

After college, Levrone signed with the Baltimore Ravens in April 2018. But unlike his college tenure, Levrone’s NFL career didn’t take off. Soon he saw himself at Carolina Panthers where he stayed until October 2019. He then had a stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he would feature in some pre-season games. But, all good things must come to an end, right? Levrone decided to retire from American Football, merely after 3 seasons in 2020, at the age of 25.

From March 2021 to January 2022, he dipped his toes as a project engineer at the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company. Then, Levrone ventured into real estate, lending his expertise as an advisor at Mackenzie Commercial Real Estate Services. But in 2022, that chapter of life ended because his path was supposed to be different. Someone who Faith and God have always driven, Levrone Jr. finally decided to pursue his greatest passion and drive after getting married to Sydney Mclaughlin-Levrone.

Currently, he is enrolled as a seminary student at The Master’s Seminary, located on the campus of Grace Community Church in Los Angeles. A major bonding point of the couple had been their belief and how spiritual they were. And the way the Olympian describes her husband – “the most God-fearing, passionate, honest, loving, hardworking, protective, and genuine man…”, that Andre Levrone would take this theological path is destiny.

But amidst his career transitions, how did he meet Sydney McLaughlin? Well, it all started with a mutual friend.

When did Andre Levrone and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone start dating?

Their love story began with a simple DM in 2020. In response to the 400mH Champion’s Instagram selfie caption – ‘Attention’, Andre Levrone would reply, “You have my attention. How can I get yours?’’ And an unexpected connection quickly evolved into something profound. Despite having mutual friends, their paths had never crossed until he took the leap and reached out.

As Sydney Levrone revealed, “He asked me to do Bible study with him and introduced me to a group of really great people who were encouraging and very mature.” Continuing, she shared how different it was with Andre: “It was the first time I was in a relationship with a man who I felt could lead me in my faith to a place where I wanted to be.” What started as friendly banter soon deepened into something more meaningful as they delved into shared interests, particularly their faith.

From the outset, it was clear they were both on the same page and were destined to have their paths collide. She vividly remembers the moment she realized he was someone special. “If I could say one thing about our relationship, it’s that it was always very intentional. Honestly, I knew by the fourth day we ever talked. So that’s something,” setting the tone for what was to come. In December 2020, Andre made the relationship official on the Instagram post of their selfie. The caption – “Heaven sent”

And nine months later, in August 2021, they got engaged, in Scottsdale, Arizona, just after the Olympian had clinched the Tokyo Olympics gold. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone once referred to herself as ‘Your future wife’ to Andre back in 2021. It’s kind of funny how things turned out, isn’t it? In May 2022, the couple exchanged vows in a romantic ceremony in Madison, Virginia. Just before the Paris Olympics, Sydney Levrone shared a lovely snap of them on Instagram, celebrating their two-year mark with the caption, ‘Two years of marriage down, forever to go. I love loving you.’

It seems their love is one for Mills and Boons novels. Now, what comes to mind is how their love story unfolds. As they stand hand in hand, their love continues to blossom with each passing day.
