Gabby Thomas’ boyfriend, Spencer McManes, was a football player during his high school days. Hailing from Roswell, Georgia, McManes is the son of Skip and Lori McManes. Going far back in his childhood, we get to know he attended Blessed Trinity Catholic High School. In fact, here, from 2009 to 2013, he set multiple school football records, including most single-game passing yards (302), most single-season passing yards (1637), career passing yards (3921), and career passing touchdowns (35).

After graduating, McManes joined McChrystal Group, a consulting service, in Virginia. There, he was employed in various roles, like analyst, associate, and senior associate. But in 2021, he moved to Austin to work for People.ai as a senior customer success manager. He would stay there for 2 years before moving to DataGrail, a data privacy company, where he is currently working.

At DataGrail, he is working as a senior customer success manager in a full-time capacity. But still, he has found enough time to pursue his entrepreneurial ideas. And from there was the birth of his non-alcoholic kava seltzer brand, Kaviva. Based in Texas, the drink is sold in 12 oz. cans and comes in a variety of flavors. But what exactly is it?

Well, the brand describes the beverage as coming from kava, “a tropical evergreen plant, native to the Pacific Islands. Its root and stems are made into a non-alcoholic beverage called kava. It’s traditionally consumed for its calming and euphoric effects.” Well, we feel like this is Spencer McManes’ chemistry inclinations manifesting through innovation.

You would think, how do Spencer and Gabby find time to meaningfully connect? Well, when the bond is so strong, life finds a way.

When did Gabby Thomas and Spencer McManes start dating?

Well, it all started for the lovebirds in 2022, when they were both in Texas. We are speculating that would be the case as the first official post of the couple was an anniversary celebration in 2023. From Spencer McManes’ Instagram handle, it’s pretty evident that Gabby and Spencer, with their shared athletic spirit, make an indeed dynamic duo. Spencer seems to cherish every moment with Gabby, as he shared a thread of heartwarming snaps on his Instagram account with the caption “Vacation every day.”

Next, Gabby was seen with McManes’ family during her boyfriend’s rugby games in February 2023. In fact, the whole McManes family is so fond of her, especially Spencer’s mother, Lori, and Spencer’s younger siblings, Carter, Mackie, and Livvie. McManes himself was there to celebrate Gabby’s graduation in May 2023 at the University of Texas, Austin. Their relationship had been one of sharing every little and big moment they could, just making memories.
