Would Grant Holloway be an Olympic medalist without his parents' unwavering support? What do you think?

Stanley Grant Holloway. Remember that name, as it might make headlines in the 110m hurdles event at Paris Olympics 2024, later this month! A Tokyo silver medalist, Holloway is apparently eyeing an even higher accolade at the Games this time around, and his performance at the U.S. Olympic Trials set this intention straight. In what was an exceptionally ‘fast’ performance, Holloway punched his ticket to Paris and clocked his own second-fastest time ever.

However, beyond the ambit of his professional life, Holloway appears a deeply family-oriented person. Skimming through his social media, one realizes how his parents seem an integral part of his life. Not just silently cheering, in fact, they look rather actively involved in his highs and lows. A Chesapeake, Virginia native, Grant Holloway was born in 1997, to mother Latasha Holloway and father Stan Holloway. By nationality, both his parents are American. And it appears that his father Stan even shares the same passion as Grant. Apparently, Holloway’s dad was one of his early track and field coaches at the Track 757 club, suggesting how the two share a knack for athletics. And during these early coaching sessions with his father, Holloway’s elder brother Trey would accompany him, making it a ‘family ritual’ of sorts.

In fact, they had a few words to share post witnessing their son put up one of the best shows of his career.

What did Holloway’s parents Stan and Latasha say about their son punching the ticket to the Paris Olympics 2024?

Unimaginable pride. That’s what perhaps filled every ounce of their hearts as they saw their boy hit a major milestone in Eugene. But even in the overwhelming moment, Holloway’s parents managed to share a few insights. Stan having been his coach before, cast light on the strategic aspect of things that helped Holloway achieve this feat. He said, “Practice like you’ve never won, and run like you’ve never lost. That’s always been the key. Consistency.”
