The most celebrated track and field prodigy, Sydney McLaughlin is a force to be reckoned with when she is chasing the home line on the tracks. Levrone is not only popular for her distinguished victory in the Tokyo Olympics but also for holding four fastest times in the 400m hurdles. She is unbeatable and the show she is about to put up in the Paris Olympics is long desired. However, the sprinter took a hiatus from her beloved field in the wake of an injury.
With a record time of 48.74 in the 400 meters, she reigned at the US Championships last month, and also set the track ablaze with 50.68 at last year’s World Championships. Nevertheless, following her victorious performance at the US Championships, Sydney was all girded up for the big games, but something has come in the way of her routine.

As per the report of SportingNews.com, on August 11th, McLaughlin took to her Instagram to make an announcement, “After consulting with my doctors and coaches, I need to take care of a minor knee issue so that I can be fully healthy for next year’s Paris Olympics. I look forward to seeing everyone back on the track soon!”
She is reportedly suffering from a minor knee injury, causing her discomfort over the course of the year. Sydney’s post also confirmed that she ceased to participate in the World Athletic Championships, that are currently underway in Budapest. The organization of the USA Track and Field laid out a message stating, “We wish her speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her back on the track soon.”
Bobby Kersee, Sydney’s prized coach, unveiled to the media that the knee injury is not major, but a little time off is no harm. Her recurring injuries also kept her from the last meet some weeks ago. With excitement filling the onlookers up to the brim, it is hard to tell whether Sydney will fully recover by the Paris Olympics or not.
Sydney’s replacement for the Athletics Championships
It takes no contemplation to say that Sydney McLaughlin is irreplaceable. But a conqueror also needs a hiatus to return stronger. Lynna Irby-Jackson, who finished fourth at the Field Outdoor Championships and the USA Track, is all set to take Sydney’s place at the Championships in Budapest this month. Lynna may not be shoulder-to-shoulder, but she is on the lookout now, referring to Sydney’s latest win.
