Jamaica’s newest track star, Oblique Seville is all anyone can talk about! The 23-year-old first caught people’s eye at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Despite not a decent performance, he continued to keep up with his elite competitors at the next two World Championships in 2022 and 2023. His most recent performance at the Racers Grand Prix 2024 made heads turn, and rightfully so! The young sprinter clinched a gold with a world-leading time of 9.82 seconds.
His rivalry with Noah Lyles has also garnered enough attention. His personal best at the Grand Prix exceeded that of Lyles’. How does that make their rivalry even more interesting? Both of them vie to break Usain Bolt’s world record, and interestingly so, Seville is slightly than his older counterpart. The sprinters are going to lock heads in the French capital at the upcoming Summer Games. But while that has many fans excited, it has also made them wonder:

Oblique Seville’s quick ascent to the top has now put him under the spot light. Back in 2020, the young athlete’s earnings were approximately $2.29 million. But as his popularity rose, the money came pouring in. Contrary to popular belief, 2022 onwards is when Seville truly thrived. In 2022, his net worth was around $3.05 million. But it grew by a significant amount once 2023 came around, he had an estimated $3.43 million by the end of the year.
2024 has been a significantly better season for Seville. Not only has he been breaking records and setting new personal bests, but he is also on the way to Paris for the upcoming Summer Games. Regardless of how he fares at the Olympics, it is bound to open up several avenues for the young sprinter. As of now, his net worth is an estimated $3.81 million.
While these numbers aren’t accurate, many often wonder how these come about. Here’s the thing! Many athletes tend to earn a certain amount from participating in several competitions and meets. Depending on where they are on the leaderboard, they are often handed prize money. But this isn’t the only way. Public appearances, social media channels, and more importantly, brands deals also heavily influence their net worth.
