The 23-year-old Bowerman winner of the Most Outstanding Woman in Track and Field of 2023 is now in the semi-finals of the global stage of the Paris Olympics 2024. She is a rising star in the world of track and field and has captured the attention of sports enthusiasts and fans with her exceptional talent and dedication to the sport. The 60-meter, 100-meter, and 200-meter sprinter hails from Saint Lucia. Starting her journey and having her parents as her pillar of strength to losing her father when she was just 12 and then moving to Jamaica at 14, Julien Alfred is not just like any other sprinter, but is the one about whom the world should know!

After winning the championships, her rankings have increased significantly. She is now the second-fastest sprinter of all time in the 60-meter indoor event when she broke the 7-second record.

Julien Alfred started track and field as early as grade 1 or 2. My talents got recognized because I was running against the young boys in my class,”  Alfred said. Her coach, Floreal, saw the potential in her and trained her for her road to the Olympics. Now that she is a strong contender at the Paris Olympics and has the potential to bring the first medal for Saint Lucia, she says, “I’d love to be the first.”
