Do Ewa Swoboda's tattoos make her more relatable as an athlete, or are they just a distraction?

Athletes usually try to showcase their beliefs and personality through their fashion choices. Whether from their nails to their clothing choices, they find comfort in being themselves. The short sprint star Ewa Swoboda too is one such athlete. However, unlike others, it isn’t her clothes or accessories that get maximum attention – it’s her tattoos. Swoboda’s highly detailed and varied tattoos are a way for her to show what she believes in.

Ever since she first stepped foot on the international scene, tattoos have always been a part of her story. They’ve been so popular that not only has Swoboda been forced to answer questions on them but has also received her own Barbie. But what do these tattoos stand for? “They give me an extra kick,” she replied. But more than that they represent her love for animals and nature.

The rose on her thighs is one of the first tattoos that Swoboda got. Her reasons for getting a tattoo are usually the same – they give her a kick. “Not immediately. Perhaps when I achieve a significant victory?” Swoboda said. Later she shared how much she enjoys that activity, “It’s my hobby,” Swoboda revealed. But then, is it more than that? Is Eva Swobada trying to send a message with her tattoos and makeup? Not according to her. The athlete denies this being anything more than her doing what she loves.

Swoboda said that she’s “not assuming any role,” and that she’s “simply Ewa.” Later she explained why she gets tattoos. “I am open, and I don’t have a problem smiling! It’s crucial. I love what I do, and I am content,” Eva Swoboda finished. However, while she may not want to send any message, her tattoos and extroverted personality have affected many. And now Swoboda has a chance to turn that impact into a lifelong story. Can she do it by winning in the Paris Olympics?
