A Twitter account named Track Spice broke the news on social media with a post that read, ?Andre De Grasse did not advance 100m final at the Canadian Trials?. The tweet also mentioned, ?Did he make the right choice to change coaches? Or did he make the sacrifice for his wife Nia Ali who is now dominating the hurdles?.

De Grasse changed coaches to John Coghlan after his previous coach could not help him overcome his hamstring injury. Talking to CBS Sports about the transition, the athlete stated, “I’ll pick this up quickly and get back to running fast and get back on the podium. As the season approaches, I’ll start mapping out more of my goals. Right now, it’s trying to get some familiarity with my coach and be on the same page with things. We’re trying to get to know each other ? what worked in the past and what didn’t.

As for throwing the race intentionally, there is no evidence or confirmation to support such claims.?His friends from the athletic community have shown their support during such a challenging time. The strongest show of support came from his fellow contestant in the 100m race, Aaron Brown.
