McLaughlin-Levron, the reigning world champion announced that she will not take part in the 400m hurdle event. Instead, she will only focus on the 400m flat track event. The 23-year-old had already secured a qualifying spot for the 400m hurdle event next month, as she won the title last year. She also holds a world record for 400m hurdles that she set last year with a time of 50.68 seconds.
