Athletes like Noah Lyles and Sha’Carri Richardson will be looking to repeat their world championship performances, while the other athletes will be trying to get better of them. Here are some of the American athletes to keep an eye on:

Sha’Carri Richardson

This Texas-based 23-year-old runner will be performing with the reputation of a 100-meter world champion. However, she might face a more difficult challenge this time as the second-fastest woman in the world, Elaine Thompson-Herah, who missed the 100-meter meet at the world championship, will also be present there to challenge the dominance of Richardson. Nevertheless, she barely feels any pressure during the bug events, and she has proven that repeatedly.

Noah Lyles

He will also be looking to claim the 100 meter title, as he did during the worlds in Budapest. He will be facing his American countryman Christian Coleman, who clocked 9.83 seconds at the Xiamen Diamond League and became the joint fastest 100-meter runner this season. Lyles also clocked the same time when he became the world champion this year. Lyles will be looking to win his first 100-meter Diamond final after 2019.
