On November 4th, 2023, Dina Nyad gave another surprise to her fans. She posted glimpses of the interview with Semenya in LA. The 74-year-old Nyad took to her Facebook account and added 3 pictures. With this, the caption caught public attention. She writes, “Had the privilege of interviewing Olympian Caster Semenya last night here in Los Angeles. Caster is promoting her new book, The Race to Be Myself, where she bravely recounts the attacks she has suffered for being an Intersex athlete.”

Furthermore, explaining the qualities of the three-time world champ, she adds, “I found her charming, honest, and inspiring.”. Semenya from South Africa is still fighting to be recognized as a woman. Additionally, in the caption, Nyad further explains, “She was born with ambiguous sex characteristics (in sports referred to as DSD—Difference in Sex Development) but has all her life considered herself a girl, then a woman. “

Above all, what turned the tables was the caption’s last sentence, which showcases Nyad’s lovable quote about Semenya.
