Shelly-Ann-Fraser-Pryce is an inspiration for all, as the 36-year-old Jamaican sprinter continues to fuel her passion for Athletics and chase new records every year. The sprinter who has eight Olympics under her name has even managed to win two World Athletics Championship titles after giving birth to her son, Zyon.

Along similar lines, this year too, the athlete fought to create history at the Budapest tracks. However, the Jamaican, who overcame ailments and bounced back to reach the finals, had to settle for a disappointing outcome this season. Despite this, Fraser-Pryce, with her benignity, was still able to win hearts at the championship.

On 21st August, with the hopes of creating history, 36-year-old Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce kneeled on the 100-meter track. However, the athlete’s on-the-field rival, Sha?Carri Richardson, sprinted toward the finish line by snatching the first position on the podium by clocking in at 10.65 seconds. Shericka Jackson claimed the silver in 10.72 while Fraser-Pryce had to settle for bronze with 10.77. Amid this win, the official Twitter handle of NBC Olympic and Paralympics posted a video of the 100m race with the caption, “Sha?Carri Richardson is a WORLD CHAMPION in the 100m!”

Interestingly, despite the loss, Fraser-Pryce won hearts at the World Athletics Championship. The sprinter told the media, “You don?t have to always know the answer. You just have to come and fight. And tonight, I?m really grateful that I’m walking away with a bronze medal.” The 36-year-old Olympian, even with a loss, created history by winning her first bronze at a World Athletics Championship. Fraser-Pryce had reached the event after overcoming a serious injury this year.

Fraser-Pryce wanted to begin her 2023 season in East Africa. However, while training for the Absa Kip Keino Classic event held in Kenya, the sprinter suffered a knee injury. Amid this setback, Fraser-Pryce had to pull back from participation in the World Athletics Championship.

In July, Fraser made a comeback to the 100-meter race event in Switzerland and, with back-to-back wins, secured her way to the Finals. While highlighting this year?s performance, Fraser-Pryce told the media, ? It wasn’t the year that I wanted in terms of injuries. But I think champions show it no matter what.
